Memorial Day Parade

2013 ParadePack 843 will be marching in the Bridgeville Memorial Day parade on May 30, 2016. If you are interested in marching in this parade, please e-mail Mark Gubinsky at mark@gubinskylaw.com so he will know how many kids will be there. (He buys candy for the kids to pass out during the parade and needs to know how much candy is needed). The pack will be meeting on Station Street by the American Legion Post at about 9:15 on the 30th.

The pack has participated in this parade for the past several years.  The boys really enjoy it.  If you are in town Memorial Day weekend, please try to take the time for your son to participate in the parade.

Any adult leaders are invited to participate as well.  Uniform shirts are required for the adults and children for the parade.

If you have any questions regarding the parade email Mark Gubinsky at mark@gubinskylaw.com.

family campingThis summer Pack 843 is going on a Family Campout!  We will be staying in Nemacolin Lodge at Camp Anawanna, a Laurel Highlands Council camp in Washington County.  This will be a one-night stay, and families can either pitch a family tent or stay inside the lodge.  There is electricity, hot running water, and even a shower.  Our itinerary looks like this:

Saturday, July 23rd:

  • 1:00 — arrival and set up.
  • 2:00 — flag raising and scoutcraft
  • 4:30 — games
  • 5:30 — prepare dinner over the fire
  • 7:30 — Campfire (skits, songs)
  • 9:00 — Cracker barrel

Sunday, July 24th:

  • Webelos’ breakfast, pack up and clean up.

There will be a $5 per person charge to help cover some of the cost of the food.  Besides having a great time and learning about camping, this will also be a chance for all Wolf, Bear, and Webelos scouts to meet important parts of their advancement requirements.
