Three Important Updates for Popcorn Sales

PLEASE READ ALL 3 updates:

MONSTER TRUCK EVENT—–If your scout has sold $650 in popcorn or has earned enough with Show-N-Sells and individual sales you will need to do the following:

  1. Sign your son up under the sign-up sheet that was just created

AND

  1. Email me a photo copy of your individual sale sheet. I will send this along with my spreadsheet which shows your child show-n-sell total.  If you need to know how much your child has approximately earned from show-n-sell popcorn, please send me a txt or email.  Providing proof for the special event is new this year.  Without proof, you child will not receive a ticket.

If you have already told me your child has $650 in sales then your child’s name will already be on the sign-up sheet but you will still need to provide me with the email.

SHOW-N-SELLS —– We still have a few slots available this weekend.  We need those spots filled.  We have two more weekends of show-n-sells.  Look for more sign-up sheets later this evening.

IMPORTANT DATES —- Popcorn money and forms due must be turned in on or BEFORE OCTOBER 16th (Pack meeting at Boys Home Park).   Popcorn pickup will be November 5th.

Pack Meeting Friday

Reminder:  Den Meetings will be this Wednesday at the Elementary School.

On Friday, September 23rd we will have a Pack Meeting at 7:00 pm.  The meeting will be at the Zion Lutheran Church (Washington Pike, near Giant Eagle).  There will be games, advancements, popcorn tasting, and a flag retirement ceremony.  Scouts must be in uniform to participate in the ceremony, but if you are new and do no have a uniform yet, please come to the meeting anyhow.

Parents are reminded to bring chairs and jackets for this outside meeting.

Popcorn Update – Monster Truck Rally Prize

We have posted Show-N-Sell opportunities for Walmart in Robinson and Robinson Mall this weekend but do not have all the time slots filled.  WE NEED ALL THE TIME SLOTS FILLED. Please take a moment to sign up.  At this time we will only have a few weeks left for Show-N-Sells this year.

I am also in the process of posting the rest of the show-n-sells on the sign-up sheets.  Look for more dates on our website soon.

If you are new to scouts and are interested but not sure how to sign-up, please send me at text message (412-780-9757)

MONSTER TRUCK RALLY – if you look on the prize sheet that was handed out with the popcorn order forms you will notice there is an additional prize for the first 650 scounts to sell $650 worth of popcorn.  Yes, show-n-sells counts toward this prize.  When your scout has sold $650 worth of popcorn you need to email me your scouts name and den number and I will put his name on the list.  If your scout is one of the first 650 to reach this goal, he will receive a free pass to the February Monster Jam event at CONSOL Energy Center.  This will also include a Pit Pass for the autograph session prior to the event.

Thanks,

Karen

New Scout Sign-up Night

JoinCubScoutsDo you have a boy who is interested in the adventures that Scouting can provide?   Since its origin, the Scouting program has been an educational experience concerned with values. In 1910, the first activities for Scouts were designed to build character, physical fitness, practical skills, and service. These elements were part of the original Cub Scout program and continue to be part of Cub Scouting today.

On Wednesday, August 31st Pack 843 will have a New Cub Scout Sign-Up Night, in the South Fayette Elementary School cafeteria, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.   Potential scouts and their parents can get the answers to all their questions, find our more about our program, and register their boys for the new scouting year.

Some basic information about Cub Scouts:

  • Cub Scouting begins for boys in First Grade, or who are 7 years old.  Members at this level  are called Tiger Cubs.  They work closely with an adult partner (parent or guardian) to begin their scouting trail.
  • Members in grades 2 and 3 are called Cub Scouts, and work on Wolf rank (grade 2) or Bear rank (grade 3).
  • Members in grades 4 and 5 are called Webelos Scouts, and work on the Webelos rank and the Arrow of Light rank.
  • Webelos Scouts usually graduate into Boy Scouting in about February of grade 5.
  • All scouts work on their rank by completing a series of Adventures.  They will receive a Cub Scout handbook that will teach them new skills and concepts, and will help guide them through each adventure.
  • The overall Cub Scouting program is family-centered, adult-run, and offers the boys an introduction to scouting.

At the meeting we will be asking for a $35 registration fee.  Fund-raising opportunities will be discussed, and please remember that no boy will be denied membership due to financial concerns.
