Cubmobile Races on April 1st. Sign up NOW!

On your marks, get set,…..GO!  The Frontier District Cubmobile Races will be held Saturday, April 1st in the  Settler’s Cabin Wave pool parking lot.

Cubmobile RaceWhat is a Cubmobile?  It’s a type of soapbox derby car that the boys race in 4 different events.  There is one gravity (downhill) event, and three events with a pusher and a driver.  Teams of two to four scouts compete against other scouts of the same rank.

How do I get a Cubmobile?  You build it!  Attached is a pdf file with instructions.  Several dens in the Pack have already built cars in the past, so if you are interested, ask around and you are sure to find some help.  There are three cars in the pack not currently being used, so talk to the Cubmaster if you want to race one of those.

When/Where/How Much is the race?  The race is at Settler’s Cabin, in the wavepool parking lot.  It’s Saturday April 1st.  Check-in begins at 8:30.  There is an opening ceremony at 9:00, and racing starts at 9:15.  The cost is $10 per scout if paid in advance (money will be collect and scouts registered in advance).  Check-in runs until noon, and racing ends at 2:00 PM.

Anything else?  Dress WARM (even if it seems like a nice day — it’s cold on that hill!).  You MUST wear a helmet, gloves, and long pants.  Uniforms or “class Bs” are required, but they are usually under your coat, anyhow.

Reminder: Tonight – Den Meeting & Hoagie pickup

Den meetings are tonight (except Den 1 – meeting on Saturday).  If you ordered Hoagies, you will need to pick up your order after your den meeting tonight.  If you are unable to pick up your order, you will need to make arrangements to have someone pick up your order at the school by 7:45PM.  If you have any questions, please contact your Den leader.

BinturongIf you like animals, then the Pack 843 March Pack Meeting is not one you will want to miss.  We will be visited by some critters from the Wild World of Animals.  You can expect to see some interesting amphibians, some riveting reptiles and of course, a few mesmerizing mammals.  Get ready for a wild evening.

Next Den Meeting March 8th

Just a reminder that Den Meetings are NOT scheduled tonight — the school rooms are being used for “Family Reading Night”.  That means the next two meetings will be back-to-back, on March 8th and March 15th.

You can use the extra time to sell hoagies — the need to be turned in at the March 8th meeting, and pick-up will occur the following week, at the March 15th meeting.
