RACE DAY TODAY- Earlier race times (in case you missed the announcement last evening)

The forecast today is predicted to be Excitement & Fun, at least inside Zion Church.  TODAY IS RACE DAY!  We have 65 cars racing today.

Outside, the weather forecast is questionable.  It seams we are right on the line for snow or rain.  That being the case, last night we moved up all races to be 30 minutes earlier for the start time.  If you cannot make it, we will race your scout’s derby car and will send you an email on scoutbook if you have placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for your rank so you will know to come for the file race!  If your scouts car placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd and you cannot make it to the final race, again, not to worry, we will race your scout’s car.  If you have any questions, please send me a text message (Karen Billingham – 412-780-9757).

New times for today’s races:

  • 8:45 AM Webelos II Arrow of Light (Fifth Grade)
  • 9:45 AM Webelos I (Fourth Grade)
  • 10:45 AM Bears (Third Grade)
  • 11:45 PM Wolves (Second Grade)
  • 12:45 PM Tigers (First Grade)
  • 1:45 PM Lions (Kindergarten)
  • 2:45 PM Winner Race

Busy week: Den Meeting, Hoagie pick-up, and Pinewood Derby weekend!

Tonight is our Den Meeting night.  Unless otherwise notified by your Den Leader, times and place are same as usual.

Tonight is also Hoagie fundraiser pick-up.  Pick-up your hoagies at the ELEMENTARY SCHOOL between 7pm – 7:45pm.   We will begin sorting at 6:30pm and expect to be done by 7:00pm.  We will not be able to store your Hoagies.  If you are unable to pick them up on Wednesday during the scheduled times, you need to find someone to pickup your order.

THE BIG EVENT OF THE WEEK IS…… our PINEWOOD DERBY!  Times and information are on the post below.  On FRIDAY, 1/18/19, your scout MUST have their car weighed and registered between 6:30pm – 8:00pm at Zion Lutheran Church (Next to Home Run Pizza) in order to be in the race on Saturday.  If you cannot be there to register and weigh your car, you will need to find someone to do this for you.  If you do NOT register your car and turn it in on Friday, you will not be able to race on Saturday.  If you have any questions, please text me at 412-780-9757.

Den Meetings Tonight and Hoagie Orders Due

Reminders:  Tonight is the 1st Wednesday of the month and our 1st Den Meeting of 2019.  Unless notified by your den leader, meetings will be at your Den’s assigned room at the school.  Also, Hoagie orders need to be turned into tonight at the school along with money.  If you did not get a Derby car and still need one, I will have them at the elementary school this evening.
