Den Meetings Wednesday — Hoagie Order Turn-in
As a reminder, we will be accepting hoagie order forms AND payments at the Den Meeting this Wednesday, March 18th at the South Fayette Elementary school. Bring in your completed TURN-IN SHEET, along with the full payment due. Checks should be made out to “Pack 843”.
If you can’t make it Wednesday, we will also accept the hoagie forms on Friday, March 20th at the Pack Meeting (7:00 at the Zion Lutheran Church).
March Pack Meeting Gets Wild!
If you like animals, then the Pack 843 March Pack Meeting is not one you will want to miss. We will be visited by some critters from the Wild World of Animals. You can expect to see some interesting amphibians, some riveting reptiles and of course, a few mesmerizing mammals. With any luck this will include the Bintorong. This this is one cat….er,… bear….er…..BEARCAT that you do not want to miss!
The meeting will be held at the Zion Lutheran Church at 7:00 PM on Friday, March 20th. Don’t be late!
Holiday Party Dec. 12th
All scouts and their families are invited to join us for the Pack 843 Holiday Party on Friday, December 12th. 
The party will begin at 7:00 PM at the Oakridge Volunteer Fire Department hall. A main course and drinks will be provided, and all families are asked to bring a side dish or dessert. Activities include our monthly pack meeting and advancements, holiday crafts, and a holiday movie.
If you can attend, please register on the sign-up page.
This will also be the last chance to pay your dues before our yearly rechartering.
Den Meeting Wednesday
The next den meetings will be on Wednesday, December 3rd at the Elementary School.
Dues for the new year need to paid now!
- If you haven’t paid your dues for the new year, please remember to stop by the front desk and get those paid.
- If your dues are already paid but you haven’t received your Pinewood Derby car kit yet, then your Den Leader should have them.
- If you need to pay dues and won’t be there on Wednesday, please let us know! Rechartering will be happening soon, and scouts without their dues paid will not be included in the new charter. Reply to this message, or send an email to cubmaster (at) pack843.org.
Den and Pack Meeting This Week
The next den meetings will be on Wednesday, November 19th at the Elementary School. Check with your Den Leader if you don’t know the exact time. Your den leader should also be able to provide the balance you own for your yearly dues — these will be collected at the Pack Meeting on Friday
On Friday, November 21st, we will be having the Pack Meeting and Talent Show, 7:00 in the Middle School auditorium. You will be able to pay the balance on your yearly dues at the meeting. All scouts with fully paid dues will receive their Pinewood Derby car kit.
Den Meeting, Hayride, and Reminders
The next den meeting will be at the South Fayette Elementary School on Wednesday, Oct. 1st. Times vary by den, so check with your Den Leader if you aren’t sure.
The Fall Hayride will be on Sunday, October 19th at Boy’s Home Park, 3:00 to 6:00 PM. There will be food, games, a hayride, and the October Pack meeting, all rolled into one! Scouts are asked to pre-register, and everyone is asked to bring a side or a dessert. Stop by the front desk at the den meeting to sign up.
There are still TWO WEEKS to sell popcorn. One show-n-sell remains, and you can sign up for that on the sign-up page. Remember these goals:
- Sell any item (just 1!) for a patch. Other prizes start at just $60 in sales!
- Sell at least one item and your Pack dues are reduced by $20.
- Sell $350 worth and your dues are PAID IN FULL.
- Sell $600 and you get an L.E.D. Stomp Rocket.
- At the $600 level, you also get to PIE THE CUBMASTER at the October Hayride!
Pack Meeting Friday
Our first Pack Meeting of the year will be this Friday, September 19th, 7:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church (on Washington Pike, near the “new” Giant Eagle).
This will be an outdoor meeting, so bring a jacket, and a lawn chair if you want to be comfortable.
We will have a popcorn tasting, give advancements and awards, and play a few games. It will be a fun time for the boys, and a great kick-off to the new year. See you there!
Den Meetings Wednesday
The next den meeting will be this Wednesday, September 17th at the Elementary School.
If you want to register but haven’t yet, please try to arrive at 6:30. That will give us a little time to answer questions and take care of the registration. The cost is $35 (cash or check).
If you are recently registered as a NEW scout, try to arrive at 6:45. That will give us a chance to divide into dens and get things started about 7:00.
Returning scouts, be sure to stop by the front desk. Popcorn forms will be there for those who haven’t received them yet, and there may be a sign-up sheet or two.
Raingutter Regatta This Friday
Reminder — The next Pack meeting is this Friday, April 25th, 7:00 PM at the Zion Lutheran Church. The big event of the night is the Raingutter Regatta race. Bring your boat, and try your best to be on time so we can get everyone registered! You can still click here for the official rules for this year’s race.
At the Pack meeting you will have an opportunity to sign up for these upcoming events:
- Day Camp at Cecil Park, July 8-10. The council has extended the “early bird” registration, so you can still sign up for $55 — but make sure you do it this week!
- Troop 834 has invited Cubs from our pack to join them on April 30th for a Summer Camp swim test. This will be at CV Pool from 7 to 9 pm. Cubs and adults who are going to resident camp can complete their swim test, and be ready for camp. Cost is $2 for adults and $1 for scouts.
