Blue and Gold Banquet, February 26th

Each year in February, Cub Scout packs across the country celebrate the anniversary of Cub Scouting.  On February 26th, all Pack 843 Cub Scouts and their immediate families are invited to attend our annual Blue and Gold Banquet, our yearly celebration of Cub Scouting!  The event will begin with a buffet dinner, after which we will be recognizing the achievements and advancements within the Pack, as well as celebrating the Webelos II scouts crossing over into Boy Scouting.  The event takes place Sunday February 26th from 3 to 6 PM at Fairview VFD Banquet Hall.

Blue and Gold cakeAll boys are also invited to participate in the Cake Contest*.

Scouts must be in full uniform for this event.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • $11.00 for adults and non-scouts 3 or older
  • $7.00 for Cub/Boy Scouts (of any Pack or Troop)
  • Pack 843 Webelos II scouts and children under 3 are FREE

To purchase tickets, complete the reservation form at the bottom of this flyer and include  a check for the proper amount made payable to “Pack 843”.  Then:

  • Turn it in at a pack event (weigh-in, Pinewood Derby, or a den meeting)
  • OR return it by mail to: Jeff Morneweck  |  109 Campbell Ave.  |  Cuddy, PA  15031
  • OR give it to your den leader to forward to Jeff

Flyers and scout account withdrawal forms will be available at the front desk during the den meeting on Wednesday.

* Cake contest details:  Each Scout and an adult partner are challenged to bake and decorate a Scout themed cake.  Some examples are camping, achievement activities, good deeds, etc.  There will be ribbons for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.  The entire cake, including decorations, must be edible. No paper, toothpicks etc.  Only the thing it sits on doesn’t have to be edible (but that can’t be part of the decoration).  After the competition, the cakes will be served for desert so we would like as many participants as possible. Judging will be done by the visiting Scout Masters and dignitaries.

Fishing Day This Saturday!

peters-lake-parkRemember that our Pack Fishing Day is this Saturday, July 2nd.  We will meet at Peters Lake Park in the morning — beginning at 8 AM (if you can handle it — or arrive later if you can’t).  Mr. Lemonovich will be on hand to supply helpful fishing knowledge to those who need it.  He will bring a few extra rods for any scouts who don’t have their own, but be advised that quantities are limited.  We will have some bait available, but bringing your own worms would be a good idea.

This link is for a Google map to get to Peters Lake Park.  Please use it to get directions before you leave home!  There is a good amount of parking on the North side of the lake, and a few spots on the South side.  When you arrive, search out the Pack 843 table so you can sign in.

All scouts should have a parent or responsible adult with them.  Anyone 16 or over is required by law to have a current PA fishing license before they can fish.  Scouts are encouraged to practice catch-and-release, and must obey state fishing regulations.
