We had 33 Scouts, Leaders and parents attend Cub Scout resident camp at Heritage Reservation in July. The Scouts enjoyed a busy schedule filled with Scoutcrafts, Archery, Fishing, BB Guns, Handicrafts, Swimming, Boating and other fun activities. Our AOL and Webelos Scouts participated in an extra day of fun which included BMX biking, Action Archery, Pellet Guns, and a hike to Camp Freedom.
The Camp Independence staff and volunteers were filled with energy and made our stay a delight, despite the rain that cancelled some activities. Impromptu Disney sing-a-longs filled any down time, along with some pickup basketball and tennis, as well as whittling practice.
AOL and Webelos Scouts participate in the Flag Retreat.
Our Arrow of Light Scouts took a special hike as part of their journey to the next level of Scouting. It was an emotional walk for the Scouts, Leaders and parents alike. We are so proud of these boys and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
We had two scouts attend Day Camp at Settler’s Cabin, Kali L. and Harshita K. Kali had two bullseyes in a row in archery! Harshita got to shoot at BB gun for the first time and hit the target! They were in the color guard and got soaked playing water games. We had a great time making new friends with Pack 198!!!
We had a blast on our Family Pack Campout in June to Raccoon Creek State Park! We hiked to Mineral Springs, fished, swam, kayaked and cooked a tin foil meal for dinner!
We held a flag retirement ceremony in June to dispose of worn, torn and old US flags. We learned how to respect the flag properly during this solemn ceremony.
Scouts from Pack 843 were honored to participate in Bridgeville’s Memorial Day Parade! We watched a flag ceremony done by BSA Troop 2 and marched down Washington Pike, throwing candy to spectators. Thank you to all who have served our country, and especially to those who gave their lives in service. Thanks to all our Scouts and Leaders who participated in the Memorial Day Parade!Kali having fun in line.
We thank all of the Scouts and families who participated in our end of the year picnic. The Scouts were excited to get their advancements and to rank up to the next level. Thank you to the Tiger Dens who put together a wonderful afternoon of fun!

If you are unable to camp overnight, please feel free to join us by 10AM on Saturday for morning activities, a hike, time spent at the lake in the afternoon and cooking our own dinner over the campfire or in a Dutch oven. Pack 843 will march in the Bridgeville Memorial Day parade on May 30, 2022. Prior to COVID, marching in the parade was always a highlight for our Pack and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase our Scouts during the 2022 parade. If you will be in town during the Memorial Day weekend, please try to take time for your son or daughter to participate in this parade.
The pack will meet on Station Street in Bridgeville by the American Legion Post at 9:00AM. The parade starts at 10 AM and usually takes less than an hour.
The parade begins near Station Street and ends at the Cemetery past the GetGo. It is suggested to park either at the cemetery or in the Aldi parking lot so you don’t have to walk all the way back to your vehicle after the parade.
Uniform shirts are required to be worn by the Scouts and adult leaders for the parade. The exception would be the Lions who are permitted to wear class B uniforms.
Advance signups are required so that the coordinator knows how much candy to purchase for the Scouts to pass out to the crowd. Please sign up here prior to May 23rd: http://pack843.org/sign-ups/
Adult leaders are encouraged to participate so that we maintain two deep leadership at all times. Matt Gerhardt will be coordinating this event, so if you have any questions prior to the parade, please contact him at mattg296@gmail.com
