Next Den Meeting March 8th

Just a reminder that Den Meetings are NOT scheduled tonight — the school rooms are being used for “Family Reading Night”.  That means the next two meetings will be back-to-back, on March 8th and March 15th.

You can use the extra time to sell hoagies — the need to be turned in at the March 8th meeting, and pick-up will occur the following week, at the March 15th meeting.

Bring a Cake to the Blue and Gold!

A reminder for those who registered for the Blue and Gold Banquet that it is this Sunday, Feb. 26th at 3:00 at the Fairview Fire Dept. Sunset Room.  Be sure to bring a cake to enter in the cake contest!

Cake contest details:  Each Scout and an adult partner are challenged to bake and decorate a Scout themed cake.  Some examples are camping, achievement activities, good deeds, etc.  There will be ribbons for 1st, 2nd & 3rd place.  The entire cake, including decorations, must be edible. No paper, toothpicks etc.  Only the thing it sits on doesn’t have to be edible (but that can’t be part of the decoration).  After the competition, the cakes will be served for desert so we would like as many participants as possible. Judging will be done by the visiting Scout Masters.

Quick March Hoagie Run

hoagies! We had a successful Hoagie sale in February with over $2000 going  directly into scout accounts.   Given that success, we will be doing another Hoagie sale with delivery at the March 15th den meeting.

Hoagies will again be $7.00. Use this sheet to record sales.

Orders can be dropped off at the Blue and Gold Banquet on February 26th and at the March 8th Den meeting.  Please submit ONLY the summary sheet with ONE check for the total.  This makes the accounting and order filling more manageable.

If you have any questions or need to get me the Hoagie orders outside of the two dates given, you can contact me at 412.56.3591.

Yours Truly,

Anu Gupta
Hoagie Honcho

I’m also looking for someone to take over this role for next year, so if you love Hoagies like I do, please let me know.

Pack Alumni Receive Eagle Scout

On Sunday, January 29th, Troop 248 in Oakdale held their winter Court of Honor, and presented the Eagle Scout badge to 6 on their scouts.  Eagle recipients Cory Supan and Noah Magdich, pictured below, both began their scouting careers in Pack 843.

The Eagle Scout Rank is the highest honor and rank advancement offered to the members of the Boy Scouts of America. Only about 2 percent of Boy Scouts throughout history have gone on to become Eagle Scouts. Congratulations to Cory and Noah, and thank your for reminding us why Pack 843 is the Pack To Be!
