The Ten Commandment Hike is a unique and exciting way to embrace the concept of religious tolerance, learn local history, and to have fun. Listen to and learn from clergy who are: Jewish, Anglican, Baptist, Byzantine Catholic, Buddhist, Roman Catholic, Christian Scientists, Hindu, Greek Orthodox, Muslim, and Zoroastrian. In addition, at each stop along the hike where there is a Pipe Organ, you will also hear classical music.
The Ten Commandment Hike is open to all Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturers, of all faiths and their families – brothers, sisters, aunts/uncles, grandparents, family friends — everyone. You don’t need to be a Scout to attend. The leisurely and stroller friendly walk visits ten religious institutions in the Shadyside and North Oakland sections of Pittsburgh.
Ample FREE parking is available at the Rodef Shalom Synagogue. The Hike will start promptly at 8:45 am at Rodef Shalom Synagogue on the corner of Fifth & Morewood Avenues in the Shadyside section of Pittsburgh. The hike ends at approximately 4:00 pm.
